The Elastix course is designed to teach someone how to install an Elastix PBX in three days. You will learn how to install and configure the Elastix system, configure IP phones and implement phone lines using VoIP and other telephony. The course will be 90% hands on with each student having their own server to configure. Each student will be required to complete a practical exam to show competence in the Elastix system.

Course Objectives

· Install Elastix System from base

· Understand basic linux commands for administration of Elastix servers local or remote

· Understand how Elastix, Asterisk, FreePBX and Hylafax fit together.

· Configure extensions, outbound routes, ring groups, queues and other FreePBX functions.

· Configure IP phones such as Linksys and Polycom for local and remote use.

· Configure SIP and IAX trunk to connect to the outside world.

· Configure Digium and Sangoma cards to connect to Analogue, BRI and PRI interfaces.

· How to deal with echo

· Configure GSM Gateways to integrate with mobile networks.

· Debugging Asterisk through the Asterisk Console

· Using CTI interfaces with Elastix such as HUD lite from Fonality.

· Understand how to use programs such as Putty and WinSCP for Windows administration.
